I think that's why I photograph dogs.
Not because they sit beautifully or perform on command — but because of what happens in between. The ear that perks at nothing. The way they flop down dramatically. The soft exhale when they finally settle. The lean that says you're mine.

Those are the moments worth capturing. The ones that become something you hang on your wall and can't walk past without feeling something.

I started Two Saints Photography because of two Saint Bernards — Baya, who taught me that time with them is never long enough, and Piper, who is almost certainly on my feet right now. Or her sofa. Yes, she has her own sofa. In the living room. This is not up for debate.
They changed how I see this work. Every dog I photograph, I photograph with the same love I have for my own. I absolutely, positively Love them All!

Full disclosure: I have a problem when it comes to Saint Bernards and Newfoundlands. I will clumsily-sprint across a parking lot to say hello to one. I have been known to slow my car to a creep — windows down, dignity out — just to ask a stranger about their big beautiful dog. If I could afford to,  I could easily become a Saint Bernard hoarder.   There would be no furniture left. I would not care even a little. Ok, maybe a little.
I have a particular love for big dogs, gorgeous light, and beautiful locations that let a dog's true  personality shine.

But mostly I just love the ones who mean everything to the people who love them.
That's why I'm here. And I'm so glad you are too.

Some people are born with patience.
I think I just never stopped being the kid who built tiny houses for frogs.

Growing up, I was the child who stopped on every walk to check under rocks, cup tadpoles in her hands, and press seeds against damp paper towels just to watch something small become something extraordinary.
I was in awe of transformation. I still am.
